Bread Pudding

2 cups of day old bread
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
2 1/2 cups milk
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup raisins
2 Tbsp. butter

Combine all ingredients, except butter in a 1 1/2 quart casserole; mix thoroughly. Dot with butter. Place casserole in pan filled with about an inch of hot water. Bake at 325 degrees for 45 to 60 minutes - test with a knife, it should come out clean.
