Spice Cake
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1 cup sour milk
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
2 cups flour
I put about 1/2 to 3/4 cup of preserves in.
