Chocolate Chip Cookies with Oatmeal

1 1/2 cup sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup shortening
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. hot water
1 cup nuts
1 pkg. chocolate chips
2 cups oatmeal
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine all ingredients and drop from teaspoon.
