Forgotten Torte
6 egg whites
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 cups sugar
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until frothy. Add sugar gradually, beating until stiff and glossy. Drop by small teaspoonfuls in twelve circles on brown paper on a baking sheet. Put in oven, close door and turn off heat. Let stand in oven overnight. Do not open oven door. Serve filled with ice crem and topped with berries.
