How about instructions for the recipes?

Unfortunately many of my grandmother's recipes are nothing but a list of ingredients. She cooked and baked daily and loved it. To her, the recipes were complete as is - she knew what to do with the list. From the beginning I said I would offer them up as I found them - and some have more definitive instructions.

Some may say well why post them then - it is a trip down memory lane for me. My grandmother lost a lifetime's worth of recipes during a flood in 1972. The box that remains were her most treasured, most used, and the ones I remember most. When I received the bright red recipe box after her death last year, I wanted to do something that would honor her memory. She always wanted to publish a cookbook - and so I thought of putting them up here.

All I can say is that at times I'm as frustrated as you. Some recipes are unreadable even as a list because of the use they received. Others she copied 8 or 10 times and changed the amounts of certain ingredients - and only she knew which one was her most recent.
