Cabbage Roll

Use a sharp knife to cut the core from a head of cabbage. Put the head into a large kettle of boiling water to steam. Remove from the water when the leaves are soft and pliable. Pare down the center vein of the leaf before rolling.

Filling:

2 lbs. ground chuck
1 cup rice cooked and drained
1 medium onion, chopped and sauteed in oleo
Salt and Pepper to taste

Mix together. Use 2 Tbsp. of filling for each leaf. Put in roaster lined with leaves. Sprinkle salt over rolls. Mix 1 can tomato soup and 1 can water and pour over rolls. Cover with cabbage leaves and bake at 325 degrees until cabbage is tender.

    G'day Kenneth
I seem to have found Cabbage Roll while searching for things on cooking course. I can see why, but I'm not sure it's exactly what I'm looking for. Just thought I'd say hello :0)

I wish I could understand how doing a search for lessons got me to Cabbage Roll. Not that I mind, you understand Kenneth. It's just that I don't think it's exactly what I was looking for :0)

I think I've found a search engine with a sense of humor - I was actually looking for articles on kids recipes, and here I am on a site called Cabbage Roll. There's probably an electronic explanation for this and I have enjoyed the experience, so no harm done. Have a nice day Kenneth - if that's your real name :0)

    Hi Kenneth
Look, I hope you don't mind, but I found your blog using home cooking as a search term. I'm trying to find original articles and recipes for my cooking websites.

I can and do use the article directories, but much of the stuff in them is hardly original and gets widely used. I'm hoping to persuade people like you, who have an interest in cooking, to contribute as well. I use a wide variety of articles and styles - just so long as it's food orientated - and I think the kind of things you write about in Cabbage Roll would be very popular :0)

The quid pro quo is a link back to your blog - or website if you have one. If this doesn't interest you, please forgive the intrusion. If it does, I look forward to hearing from you.

    Best wishes
    Michael Sheridan
