Candy Apple

1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup light sirup
1/2 cup water
1/4 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine all ingredients except vanilla and cook until sirup crackles when a bit is dropped in cold water. Remove from fire and add vanilla. Stick a skewer into end of washed and dried apples, dip into the hot sirup, and place on a well oiled pan to cool.
