Lyda's Chocolate Cupcakes
1 egg
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup sour milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. soda
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup hot water
Put ingredients in bowl in order given and do not mix until last ingredient has been added then beat well. Bake in moderate oven in baking cups from 15 to 20 minutes.
