Bon Bon Cookies

1/2 cup soft oleo
3/4 cup sifted confectioners sugar
1 Tbsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cup sifted flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1 square unsweetened chocolate, melted

Mix oleo, sugar, and vanilla. Blend in flour and salt thoroughly with hand. Wrap a tablespoon of dough around a nut or cherry. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet, 1 inch apart, 12 to 15 minutes until set but not brown in a 350 degree oven.

Substitute 1/2 cup lt. brown sugar for 1/2 cup confectioners sugar for white cookies.
Add food coloring if desired.

A note on the side of this recipe card says "I double recipe"

Now that's a good question. It doesn't say on Gram's recipe card. I rather think it's mixed in as a last ingredient before the cookies are shaped. Sorry, I wish Grams was still here so I could ask her to be sure.
